Abstract

Vision is the most important perceptual sense among the other human senses and if we consider that there isn’t enough light to take advantage of this sense to interaction with the environment, the importance of lighting and related knowledge and methods will be more appear. Although lighting and its methods is a new knowledge in Iran, but in the past three decades significant developments on this knowledge, through a purely physical and primary look to light, have done to understand the values of perception. According to these researches, lighting can have significant role in physical and psychological reactions of people into the environment. Without providing psychological and behavioral needs in each space, not only the performance and efficiency of environment activities -especially in workplaces- will decrease, but also creating spaces that need to attract customers through the approach behavior such as stores, restaurants, hotels, etc. will face to failure. this paper reviews the methods, procedures and requirement of the lighting and reliable sources of perceptual context, with the functional category of information for measuring the quality of light, and hopes that recognizing these parameters will allow the provision of modeling process and quantitative assessment and arrangement of light in indoor spaces which underlying Future research of the authors of this paper.
