There are many images with the subject of levitation of the prophet Mohammad (Miraj) in Persian imagery. But the produced works are different according to the method of Persian imagery affected by the thinking way of that era and the views of supporters from viewpoint, method, quality and story scopes. From the Safavid era there are two well-known and important images with unique and considerable features including: levitation image in Khamse of Sultan Mohammad and levitation image of Falname of Aghamirak. In the both images the spiritual journey of the prophet Mohammad are pictured while the angles came to welcome him in the middle of the way; but using the visual elements and imaginary preparation in these images are not equal and the same in a way that each one shows a different story and artistic quality. The main question is that the visual elements and imaginary preparations in each image are appeared in line with which story? And it shows what kind of quality and meaning? In order to answer this question in this research, visual elements of two images are compared in detail and the thinking and artistic situations are evaluated. The research method is descriptive – analytical – comparative and the data are gathered from librarian sources. The findings show that the application of visual elements and imaginary preparations resulted in creating secret, spiritual and Paraphrastic stories in Khamse image and the Shiite story and advertising and direct in Falname image. In such case, quality and story, thinking – religious and artistic – supportive situations of production era in each image have important roles.
